My Approach
My approach draws upon my extensive training and clinical toolkit to develop an understanding of what the root causes of your symptoms may be. I can then create a personalised plan of care for you where we translate this complex scientific knowledge into practical changes through our unique 'Circle of Care' method
What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional therapy applies nutrition science for the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care. A wide range of tools are used to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and to understand how they may contribute to your symptoms and health concerns. This approach allows me to work with you to address nutritional balance and help support your body towards maintaining or optimising health. Everyone is unique so I recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach.
What is Functional Medicine?
Functional Medicine is a unique personalised model that enables practitioners to work with clients to address the underlying causes of symptoms and health issues in order to promote optimal wellbeing. It explores the why, focusing on the root cause, rather than symptom management. For example, we dig into the cause and triggers of PCOS or what is really underlying fatigue in a person. Functional medicine considers a persons genetics, biochemistry, environment, and lifestyle and directs this into creating a personalised plan.
What is Personalised Health?
Personalised health care is also known as 'precision health'. It takes into account how your genes, lifestyle, and environment are all factors that affect your health. The goal of precision health is to protect your health by measuring these factors and acting on them. Interventions can be tailored to you, rather than using the same approach for everyone. We may use functional tests to inform recommendations that are based on your unique biological individuality.
What is Lifestyle Medicine?
Lifestyle medicine may include comprehensive lifestyle changes to help manage conditions such as PCOS or disordered eating by addressing the underlying causes. This may include behaviour modification, health coaching, nutrition, physical activity, stress management, sleep management, psychotherapy, and social support.
