HOW DO I BOOK A CONSULTATION?

​

If you are a new client you can book a free discovery call here. For existing clients you can book an appointment through your client portal.

​

DO I HAVE TO COME TO  A CLINIC TO SEE YOU?

​

No, we offer both phone and video 'telehealth' consultations. Video consultations are preferable as it is easier to share more information with you. Video consultations are accessible on both your desktop and your mobile device.

​

HOW DOES TELEMEDICINE WORK?

​

Nutrition for women utilise a GDPR, SOC-2, PIPEDA, GDPR, CCPA, FERPA and PCI and HIPAA compliant video conferencing system.  We provide a unique and private video link for sessions. This is typically through your client portal on either your desktop or your mobile device.

​

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO SEE YOU?

​

We currently see clients aged 16 or older.

​

DO YOU SEE CLIENTS FROM OVER SEAS?

​

Yes, you can participate with appointments by phone or video link.

​

WILL YOU ONLY ADDRESS MY PCOS? WHAT IF I ALSO HAVE OTHER HEALTH CONDITIONS?

​

We aim to support you with all your needs, this includes PCOS and any other health conditions you may have. As a hormonal disorder PCOS may be impacting any other health conditions you may have, so you may begin to see improvement as your PCOS symptoms improve.  We are currently unable to see clients with cancer or chronic kidney disease. 

​

I AM TRYING TO HAVE A BABY, CAN YOU WORK WITH ME?

​

Absolutely, we aim to support you to optimum health.  We understand how frustrating this is, and that you may have been through some trauma. We work with women who are preparing for pregnancy, are having difficulty conceiving, have experienced loss, or who are embarking on IVF. Let us know if pregnancy is your goal and we can see how we can personalise your plan to support you.

CAN YOU WORK WITH WOMEN IN PERI-MENOPAUSE OR MENOPAUSE?

​

Yes, symptoms can become worse through this period as your hormones change.  This is a good time to understand your PCOS and support your body through this transition.

​

CAN YOU WORK WITH WOMEN TAKING CONTRACEPTIVE MEDICATION?

​

Yes, we can work with women taking most medication.  It is important you inform us of any medication you are taking, or if any changes are made.

​

I HAVE CANCER, CAN I WORK WITH YOU?

​

We are not currently able to accept clients with cancer. This requires specialist knowledge and experience.  Please ensure any nutritional therapist you work with has specialist training.

HOW I KNOW WHAT PACKAGE I NEED?

​

We can discuss this in your free discovery call.  We will assess what your current situation is and what you are looking for We can discuss any of your concerns or questions.  All packages will be adapted to ensure you get the best possible experience. Packages can also be changed to ensure your requirements are met.

HOW LONG DOES A CONSULTATION LAST?

​

Your first consultation last up to 90 minutes.  Follow-up consultations last up to 45 minutes. The time spent in follow up sessions will depend upon the time that is required in that session to provide personalised care. This can vary from session to session. 

​

I STRUGGLE WITH CONCENTRATING FOR LONG PERIODS, CAN I HAVE SHORTER CONSULTATIONS?

​

Yes, there are specific cases where this is necessary. We can discuss this in your discovery call.

​

I FEEL OVERWHELMED AT FILLING IN LONG FORMS OR QUESTIONNAIRES. IS THIS A PROBLEM FOR THE HEALTH QUESTIONNAIRES?

​

No, it is not a problem.  We can find a way that works for you. 

​

WHAT IS YOUR AVAILABILITY FOR CONSULTATIONS?

​

We are flexible. If you cannot find an appointment free on our calendar, email us and we can make a suitable arrangement.

​

HOW OFTEN WILL I BE SEEN?

​

Typically we start with weekly consultations.  At a point that we agree is advantageous to you, this is reduced to every other week.  Free messaging is available between sessions through your portal.

​

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

​

We do not accept insurance at this time. This is something we are currently looking into.

​

HOW LONG DO YOU RECOMMEND I SEE YOU FOR?

​

This varies greatly from client to client. As a general guideline we say to expect a minimum of three months.  This allows time for you body and mindset to begin to adapt, and for behaviours to change.  Remember, it is likely you have been living with your condition for a long time, and lasting change takes time.

HOW DO I CONTACT MY PRACTITIONER BETWEEN CONSULTATIONS

​

You can message your practitioner through your client login. This is included in the price of your package.  More in-depth questions may require a consultation. You next consultation may be brought forward.

​

HOW DO I ACCESS MY PERSONAL CLIENT PORTAL.

​

You can login at the top of this page through the client portal tab, or through your app. If you have any difficulties email us at hello@nutritionforwomen.co.uk

WHAT IS DISORDERED EATING?

​

When dietary choices become confusing and perhaps feel out of control. You may have started to cut out food groups, follow new diets, or skip meals.  You may experience guilt or shame with food, and be concerned about eating.  You may not feel comfortable following your bodies hunger cues.  Perhaps you exercise or cut meals to compensate. You may eat emotionally, over eat, binge, or perhaps even purge.

IF I WANT EATING DISORDER RECOVERY COACHING, DO I ALSO NEED TO HAVE PCOS?

​

Yes, you either need to have been diagnosed with PCOS, or suspect you have PCOS.  This suspicion may be due to a family history of PCOS or symptoms you may have experienced.

​

IF I HAVE AN EATING DISORDER CAN I SEE YOU?

​

Yes, you can.  We will need to ask some questions to ensure you are 'well enough' to see us, and you would not benefit more from a practitioner with a different specialism. We will need to be in regular contact with your GP or other health professionals involved in your care. 

​

HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED HELP WITH DISORDERED EATING OR EATING DISORDERS?

​

If your weight, shape, or size occupy your thoughts.  If you cancel social events or avoid them because you are concerned about what you may eat or how you may look. If you are finding things like calorie counting, macro measuring, or food generally is having an impact on your day to day life. Perhaps it is difficult for you to go about your day without having exercised, or purged. Contact us and have a chat to see how we can help.

DO I SEE YOU INSTEAD OF A DOCTOR?

​

You would not. We are not a replacement for medical advice.  

​

DO YOU LIAISE WITH OTHER PROFESSIONALS?

​

Yes, we can support you as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure your best possible care.
